Lois Marie (Moe) Hunter, 71

Lois Marie (Moe) Hunter, 71, beloved mom, grandmother and friend, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 29, 2018.

Lois was born on May 28, 1946, in Hamilton Mont. Her parents were Carl Moe and Dorris (Wagner) Moe. She is survived by her three older sisters, Ethel, Elna and Wilma, and 12 nieces and nephews.

Lois married Randy Hunter in 1964 and together they had two sons, Kelly Hunter of Bozeman, Mont., and Craig Hunter of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was divorced in 1983.

Lois grew up in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana, working hard on the farm and ranches. She attended Hamilton High School, where she was homecoming queen, and then graduated from Corvallis High School in 1964. For close to 20 years she worked in a greenhouse and loved working with flowers. She had a beautiful garden and spent a lot of her spare time, if there was any, in the garden. In 1987 she moved to Taos, N.M., for eight years. She loved the Southwest culture and food.

In 1995 she moved to Spokane, Wash., and eventually to Post Falls. She worked for Itronix for 10 years and then attended North Idaho College, graduating with an accounting assistant degree in 2011. The past five years had been a struggle battling COPD. Lois loved to travel and is now in heaven sitting on a beach with her feet in the sand and sun on her face.

Lois is survived by her sons, Kelly Hunter and Craig (Cheryl) Hunter and her grandchildren, Lauren Hunter, Bianca Hunter, Jackson Hunter, Sophie Hunter, Emily Hunter, Vanessa Shippy and Billy Irons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Schneidmiller Hospice House. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
