Blondine L. Dorendorf, 92

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blondine L. Dorendorf. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Blondine met Harry L. Dorendorf when her family moved to Kellogg from New Salem, N.D. They were next door neighbors for many years before their love affair began as high school sweethearts with a quick kiss on the cheek. They were separated for a few years while Harry served in the Navy, but were able to be married in 1945 while he was on a furlough. That love allowed them to share 51 1/2 years together before Harry passed away in 1996.

They shared a love of camping and hunting, and spent many hours holding a fishing pole in Powderhorn Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene. If they weren’t busy cleaning and smoking the fish, they were busy canning them.

Blondine enjoyed painting ceramic figurines, embroidering and sewing sequined felt craft projects. Her Christmas stockings will bring happy memories to her children and grandchildren for many years to come. She also enjoyed being a loving, supportive grandmother who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and keep them in line.

She was preceded in death by her husband; older brother, Ed Ullrich and older sister, Eleanor Newton. She has one surviving younger brother still living in the Silver Valley, Rayton Ullrich. Her love and smile will be missed by her three daughters, Kathy Tams (and husband Ken), Lynn Dorendorf and Janet Dorendorf; and five grandchildren, Craig Etherton (and wife Robin), Chris Tams (and wife Amy), Amanda Tams, Tracy Dixon Masseur (and husband Anthony) and Erin Blakley (and husband Jerry). She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Matthew Etherton, Caleb Tams, Logan Tams, Allison Masseur, Josh Davis (and wife Kayla), Austin Davis and Dakotah Davis. She also had one great-great-grandchild named Ellie Davis.

While our hearts are missing her greatly, she is now able to join the love of her life, her husband, Harry — together forever.
