No boil water advisory for Bayview

| May 18, 2018 4:05 PM

Rumors that there is a boil water advisory for public water systems in Bayview are not true.

The county’s office of emergency management posted the following on its Facebook page:

“The Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management has confirmed with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality that residents serviced by regulated public water systems in Bayview are not under a boil water advisory.”

Robyn Edwards, director of the Bayview Water and Sewer District, wrote in a message to The Press that “matters like this can cause great anxiety.”

The rumors come as Bayview and other towns on Lake Pend Oreille are facing possible flooding due to spring runoff and recent rains.

“Just to be clear also, our water facilities are not subject to deleterious effects from the increased lake water levels since our production wells and storage are located at elevations above the lake in the hundreds of feet,” Edwards wrote.
