Submit Fourth of July parade applications by June 1

COEUR d’ALENE — It's almost time to strike up the band and get on those red, white and blue marching shoes.

Entry applications are now being accepted for the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce's 2018 Fourth of July Parade.

Family-friendly groups and organizations of all kinds including veterans, schools, government, churches, equestrian groups, commercial entities and more are invited to participate.

This year's theme is "America the Beautiful."

The parade will be held Wednesday, July 4 starting at 15th Street and Sherman Avenue, traveling west and ending at Government Way and Northwest Boulevard. The parade will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Parade entry check-in begins at 8 a.m.

New this year, parade entrants will be able to register completely online at www.eventbrite.com by searching "2018 Coeur d'Alene 4th of July Parade Entry Registration" and following the instructions.

Jessica Bonar of Advanced Benefits is this year's Fourth of July celebration event coordinator. For questions and electronic parade applications, contact Bonar at jbonar@trustab.com. Applications can also be picked up at the chamber office, 105 N. First St. in Coeur d'Alene.

The deadline for registrations and payments is June 1.

Following the parade, the day will be filled with activities including food vendors and live music in Coeur d'Alene City Park from noon to 8 p.m. At dusk, the chamber will present a fireworks extravaganza over Lake Coeur d'Alene at Independence Point.
