Louis ‘Lou’ Eldred, 81

Louis “Lou” Eldred entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2018, at the age of 81. He was born Aug. 9, 1936, to Louis Myron Eldred and Maxine Eggers Eldred. Lou was raised in Aberdeen, Wash., and married Marcia Lindstrom on Feb. 14, 1956. They were married 62 years and together raised their family of six children. They first lived in Washington state, moved to California in 1961, and returned to Washington in 1976.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother, Ed, and his oldest son, Rick, who died in 1998 at the age of 42. Lou is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughters, Shirley, Lynne, Kim and Linnea; son, Ron; sister, Alyce; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lou was an avid bowler his whole life and recorded a perfect 300 game at Tyee Lanes in Everett, Wash. In 2002, after retiring from Boeing, Lou and Marcia moved to Post Falls, Idaho. He loved spending time with his wife and many friends, and also enjoyed watching the Mariners and Seahawks with family and an occasional Bud Light. He enjoyed bowling in tournaments, both local and in the National USBC Tournament.

Lou had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed socializing with friends he made through bowling and other activities in North Idaho. He loved to go fishing whenever he got the chance. Since he really liked Mexican food, Toro Viejo in Hayden was one of his favorite places to gather.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign Lou’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
