Avista to perform siren testing in Post Falls

POST FALLS — Avista Utilities will perform periodic live tests of an emergency warning siren at the Post Falls North Channel Dam near Q’emiln Park from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Thursday.

Avista is in the process of upgrading the warning and evacuation system. To optimize the effectiveness and audibility of the siren, Avista will be conducting periodic tests of the various siren tones and public address capabilities. These soundings may last up to 5 minutes in duration and may be broken up into several activations.
