MITCHELL: Common sense, compassion

| May 11, 2018 1:00 AM

Judge John Mitchell has served as a District Court Judge in Idaho for more than 16 years. This First Judicial District judge position is based in Coeur d’Alene, but includes the Silver Valley.

For the average voter, figuring out which candidate to support in judicial races is difficult and confusing. Most of us have little contact with the courts, yet we know the role of our judges is very important. I believe there are three key factors in deciding which candidate to vote for in this race. These factors are: experience, demeanor and respect of peers. On all three of these, Judge John Mitchell stands out. After many years as a lawyer and over 16 years as a judge, he is admired and respected throughout much of Idaho’s legal profession. It is Mitchell’s common sense and compassion in addition to sentencing people appropriate to the crimes committed, that makes Judge John Mitchell the right person for this extremely important judge position. Please join me in voting, on May 15, to return Judge Mitchell to the District 1 Judicial Court position.
