HOUSER: Win-win for county

| May 11, 2018 1:00 AM

Chief Deputy Assessor Rich Houser is running unopposed for the position of Assessor. Because he is running unopposed, many residents of the county have missed the opportunity to hear his vision and experience his passion for serving the residents of Kootenai County.

I have known Rich for many years and can honestly say I have never met a man more committed to serving his community. He is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Coeur d’Alene, and was a founding member of the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce River City Leadership Academy. He was the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 2008 and was inducted into the North Idaho Officials Association “Hall of Fame” in 2009 for his 20-plus years of service as a high school wrestling official. Houser is a Republican Precinct Committeeman, Precinct 31.

He has been married for 37 years to his wife, Pam, and has three grown kids, and four grandkids.

His 15 years experience as Chief Deputy Assessor will provide Rich with a unique perspective as he transitions into the assessor’s position. Looking forward, I am sure we will experience an assessor’s office that will operate at the highest levels of professionalism and customer service.

Please don’t let the fact that he is running unopposed detour you from taking every opportunity to learn more about this special candidate. The taxpayers of Kootenai County will be well served by Mr. Houser and his staff.
