AMADOR: The Paul I know

| May 11, 2018 1:00 AM

I am writing this letter of support for Paul Amador who is running for House Seat 4B. Most people know Paul in his political role, but I would like to tell you about Paul, my colleague and friend.

Paul and I shared an office at the University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene when he was in the role of director of Program Development. In our respective roles, Paul and I worked together on several initiatives. With each project, Paul would start by researching and collecting relevant data, convening pertinent stakeholders, encouraging conversation and working to build consensus on an action plan.

We share an interest and dedication to K-12 and higher education. Paul and his wife, Julie, are the first generation in their families to go to college and both have attained Ph.D.s. Paul and Julie have dedicated their careers toward higher education because they know how a college education can enrich and improve lives.

Most important for me, I found that when Paul is confronted with a politically charged or sensitive issue, his first response is analytical, not emotional. He tries to see all sides of an issue and respectfully listens to competing views. I’ve also seen this on display at his town hall meetings.

I believe Paul has done an excellent job during his first term in office and I trust that if given the opportunity, he will continue to admirably represent our district.

Please join me in voting for Paul Amador, our incumbent candidate for House Seat 4B.
