SIMS: Shouldn't the rules apply to her?

| May 4, 2018 1:00 AM

It seems that one of our candidates is trying to break the rules. Why shouldn’t a legislator live in the district that they represent? It seems wrong on so many levels to live outside of the district that a legislator should be a part of to effectively understand the issues and for which they should advocate. I think even our president would agree with this. He wants fair representation. How can this be done if you are not a part of your constituency? It’s like saying, I am from Oklahoma and I want to represent the people of Tennessee. Even Hillary established residency in New York before she ran for the Senate. I hope the Secretary of State does the right thing and gives Jim Brannon the authority to black out Kathy Sims name on the ballot. Shame on you Kathy Sims.
