Danny Lee Burgett, 64

Danny Lee Burgett, from Hayden, Idaho, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, at age 64.

Danny was born on Jan. 10, 1954, to Jerry and Mary Burgett, in Ellensburg, Wash. He attended Washington State, where he not only met his wife Julia, but also majored in environmental science and forestry. Danny joined the Forest Service and later transitioned to the Soil Conservation Service, USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service. From there he moved up the ranks and then retired as operations manager of Oregon’s USDA/NRCS in Portland after 34 1/2 years of government service.

Danny is survived by his wife, Julia; their two daughters, Corinne (Mark) Van Heel and Kayla (Oswald) Silva; grandchildren, Cecille, Coy and Nola; and his sisters, Denise Burgett, Marsha Burgett and Jimi Weaver and their families and close friends.

Danny was a dedicated family man and a true friend, with just the right amount of humor and sarcasm to put a smile on your face.

Danny was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying such activities as hunting, camping, fishing, gardening and vineyard work. He was also a talented mechanic and a skilled woodworker. He was a man — or more appropriately a Superman — of many things.

A memorial is scheduled for Saturday June 16, 2018, at the family’s home in Hayden, Idaho. For more information or to send condolences or memories please email DBurgettMemorial@gmail.com or call 503-579-8097.
