EDITORIAL: Wrong about Hart, Green

| May 2, 2018 1:00 AM

I found your editorial of this morning (Friday, April 27) most interesting. Though we are only permitted one letter concerning political candidates, it seems there is no limit to what you are permitted to say.

It is interesting that you would spend time criticizing two men who stand strongly for the Idaho Republican Party; men who support the U.S. Constitution and the Idaho Republican platform and work for the things contained there.

Phil Hart never had a decent day in the court of public opinion. He wrote a very in depth book on the Internal Revenue Service, for which they could not forgive him. So they requested a list of who bought his books. When he refused, they took away all his business deductions. Because he could not pay his taxes, they placed a lien on his property, etc. You know the end result.

John Green has worked hard both here and in Texas for the rights of the little guy, and the principles of the Constitution. I do not know any of the detail of his case, but suspect that if you took time to track it down you might conclude that he is right and the IRS is wrong. In fact when it comes to the government, I would much rather believe almost any individual as opposed to the IRS.

Anyone who really wants to know the facts should take time to talk to these two great men. I feel confident they would be willing to share the truth with you.

Thanks so much.
