Tony L. Masur, 63

Tony L. Masur, age 63, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away at his home on April 18, 2018, after a short battle with cancer. His faith in God gave him the strength to keep fighting his illness until he could not.

Tony was born on Aug. 21, 1954, to parents Ignatius and Agnes Masur. Tony grew up in Geddes, S.D., where his family farming and farm equipment led him into a career of truck driving. He worked for Missoula Cartage in Missoula, Mont., Peck and Peck Excavating in Post Falls, Idaho, and a multitude of companies driving truck. In 2009, he and his wife became owner-operators and specialized in hauling oversized loads.

Tony is survived by his wife, Dana, the load finder, the hub cap (as Tony was the wheel, according to Tony), sounding board, and she kept the home fire burning. Tony was extremely proud of his son, Kelvin Masur, who is a police officer. Kelvin is married to Misty Masur and they gave Tony two wonderful grandchildren, Sydnee and Jace Masur.

Tony could fix or build anything and always had a whopper of a story or a good joke to tell. He left everyone with an imprint of his love and humor. The hole he will leave in our lives is as deep as it is painful. But we are blessed to have had a man in our lives who loved us so deeply and would do anything for his family and friends. He would go that extra mile to ensure everyone was happy.

There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on May 5, 2018, at St. George’s Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., Post Falls, ID 83877. Tony will be laid to rest in Geddes, S.D., with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Tony’s life by giving your time and attention to those who may be overlooked or by donating to your local animal shelter, as his two favorite Scottish terriers were rescue dogs.
