NIC men win team title in Washington

BURLINGTON, Wash. — The North Idaho College men’s golf team earned another team title, topping the 10-team field at a two-day Northwest Athletic conference tournament hosted by Skagit Valley at Avalon Golf Links.
Sean Langham, who led the men’s field after Sunday’s 1-under-par 71, was the Cardinals’ top finisher with a two-day total of 150 — a score that tied Langham for fourth with Spokane Community College’s Chase Mitchell, a former Coeur d’Alene High golfer.
Also posting a top-10 finish for NIC was Ben Harvey (152) as the Cardinals edged Bellevue 606 to 608 for the team title.
In the women’s tournament, NIC’s Madi Brown finished tied for second with a two-day score of 157, two shots behind medalist Brianna Esvelt of Columbia Basin College.
The Cardinal women were fourth in the eight-team field.
