RSVP: Please, read this

Amen! This letter is in response to Dennis Edelbrock’s guest opinion dated March 21 in regard to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

As a recipient of the Friendship Corp., a branch of RSVP, I am providing input for the seniors who are receiving the meaningful visits as they provide an uplift in our days.

We have an opportunity for a one-on-one conversation to share our views on current events (both local and national), books we have read, family activities, etc., with one who is willing to listen with compassion and an open mind. We will sorely miss this worthwhile volunteer program.

I am a 91-year-old, home-bound senior. My “friend” is writing this for me.
