Evans, a 6-foot-5 freshman point guard, had 28 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinals in their 90-83 overtime win over Peninsula to win the Northwest Athletic Conference championship on March 18 at Everett Community College. Evans was named tournament MVP, averaging 34 points per game during the two-weekend, four-game tournament. “RayQuan had four unbelievable games in the tournament,” NIC coach Corey Symons said.
