GUNS: Firing right back

As I read the comments from participants at the pro-AR-15 rally, I was saddened. There was Jesse Stinton’s ignorant and dismissive comment regarding the participating students: “If kids have an excuse to get out of class, they’re going to take it.” Maybe Jesse, they just want to live. And then, the same old tired refrain: “guns don’t kill people,” etc., etc. An AR-15 only has one purpose and that is shooting a lot of somethings. And, these days they are being used to kill our babies.

Tom Hamilton claimed students were being used politically, as if they are too stupid to know they were being shot at. And writer Jerry Weaver blames the rallies for creating an atmosphere not conducive to learning and should be prohibited. So too, Jerry, should mass shootings. Stifling dissent is for Communism, not Democracy!

What if all the assault-rifle lovers became the Good Guys and joined the state National Guard, aka a well-regulated militia? Instead of thoughts and prayers, they could volunteer to stand guard at schools.
