Whitetail hunting survey closes April 16

Idaho wildlife managers are asking hunters to chime in on the latest whitetail deer management plan.

Whitetail hunting has grown in popularity in Idaho and currently makes up one half of the total deer harvest, according to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

A whitetail survey has been mailed or emailed to randomly selected license holders.

Hunters who did not receive a survey can still chime in until April 16 by clicking the Deer Hunting tab on the department’s website.

“Your opinion, and those of other white-tailed deer hunters, will help us determine where adjustments may be needed,” said state game manager Jon Rachael. “By understanding what white-tailed deer hunters want, we can continue to provide the best diversity of hunting.”

The last time the department revised its management plan was in 2005.
