CHRISTIANS: Unite in prayer

| March 21, 2018 1:19 PM

I am a Christian parent and my children attend a public school. I have to say that the last few years have been a huge culture shock since we were unable to keep them in a private Christian school, and my children have stated that they are scared to read their bibles in school. They are scared to pray to God when they feel the need, especially in the middle of a quarrel with their friends. All due to bullying.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE.

Why is it that the public schools have amended multiple curricula in order to, in their own words, “include everyone and accept everyone,” but I see an issue when it comes to this: Christians have been forgotten. That’s why I started the Facebook group North Idaho Christian Parents of Public Schools.

We have the right to our religious freedom, and so do our children. Now is the time to stand up as followers of Christ.

Let’s pray with our children in front of the schools before they walk in at the beginning of the day. Let’s pray with them after we volunteer in their classroom or eat lunch with them. Voluntary and non-disruptive prayer is protected under the Constitution. As parents, we have to right to pray with our children during the school day. I’m taking this challenge and stand, will you?
