Hughes, a sophomore at the Immaculate Conception Academy, had 14 goals and nine assists in five games as the Cristeros won the state high school hockey championship March 11 at Frontier Ice Arena. In the championship game Hughes had two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime. “Bear is a very competitive player and will do everything he can to help his team be successful,” Cristeros coach Vince Hughes said.
