Larry D. Green, 65

Larry was born in San Gabriel, Calif., on Aug. 3, 1952, to John and Earleen Green.

He spent many years as an educator and a principal in schools and in the ministry, starting out as a youth pastor before working his way up to senior pastor. In his time of ministry, he became chancellor of the Bible College FMBI until 2015.

One of his greatest joys was working for the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office as jail chaplain. Watching a kindergartner or a college student grow was a thrill. Larry would always lend a hand to whomever needed it wherever and whenever needed.

Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Pam; a son, Joshua Green of Long Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Sarah West from Placentia, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jacob and Piper West; also, his extended family, Cherish Eckert, Cody Eckert, Jacob Eckert, Austin Eckert, Chris Dagne’, Monet Dagne’ and David Dagne’ from Southern California. He also leaves behind a brother, Mike Green and sister-in-law, Chris from Temple City, Calif. and two nephews and two nieces.

He also includes in his family the many fine people of Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office where he worked for six years. Larry loved every minute of it. He loved working with the people that helped him with his job, helping the broken in the community. They could not have been helped by him without Jesus Christ, whom he came to know in 1962. He is the answer for the social problems in our community.

Larry wanted you to know that he loves each one of you and thanks you for loving him back and being a very important part of his life. The Lord bless you.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. Please visit Larry’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
