White Pine Coffee Shoppe to open in midtown

The new White Pine Coffee Shoppe plans to open Wednesday at 814 N. Fourth St.

Open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, the selection includes several coffee options, pastries, light snacks, homemade sauces and syrups, and smoothies.

Owners Autumn and Viljo Basso have now named four places after Idaho state symbols, including their Syringa and Bluebird restaurants, also on Fourth Street, and the Garnet breakfast place they owned earlier. Kayla Carey is manager and pastry chef, and Dan Couillard is head barrista.

Gourmet Way moves north in Hayden

Now in North Idaho for 20 years, Gourmet Way opened last weekend in its new location in Suite D at 9321 N. Government Way.

Owner Tiffani Roesler offers specialty groceries and wines, kitchen supplies, gifts, seasonal entertaining items and cooking classes. Wine tastings are 5-7 p.m. Thursdays. Special events are listed on Facebook.

Cd’A Exchange moves on Fourth

Offering an emporium of new and used and antique merchandise at discounted prices, The Coeur d’Alene Exchange is moving from 849 N. Fourth St. to 1901 N. Fourth St. (formerly a bike shop).

Owners Nathan and Vanessa Bark also have an off-site processing warehouse shopable online.

“This is a small business where we can work as a family and to be a hub of the community — our American dream,” Vanessa said.

Coeur Beauty Bar in Fairground Center

A hair and nail salon specializing in nail services, Coeur Beauty Bar opens Monday in Suite 2 of Fairground Center at 4055 N. Government Way.

“Our salon is a creation of nine friends who have worked together for years,” said Carrie Bomar. “We take pride in quality services and use the best products available. We decided to create a salon that feels like home to our clients. We look forward to meeting new faces.”

The crew includes Donna Brand, Karen Corbit, Rena Clark, Kelsey Yelland, Idella Mansfield, Riki Moreland, Sarah Ferguson, Marissa Brand and Bomar.

- Honey Co. restaurant will open in the spring where The Cellar was downtown on Sherman.

- Ellenbecker Eye Clinic will move this summer from 2140 Riverstone Drive to nearby 2020.

- Renovation is underway at the former Kelly’s Pub building at 726 N. Fourth St. This spring it will be a breakfast-lunch eatery called Ten/6.

- Pizza & Pretzels will open in Silver Lake Mall.

- ICCU is building a new place near Winco. Several new apartment buildings will be there also.

- Hotel news: The Shilo Inn is being remodeled on Appleway and will become a Comfort Suites with 138 rooms, an indoor pool and a meeting room for 50 people. Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone with a $10 million building permit.
