PROTEST: Who are the adults?

| March 18, 2018 1:00 AM

What a sad day in North Idaho.

While our incredibly mature high school students were sharing their grief for lost lives, a group of questionably motivated individuals chose to hold a “counter protest” at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

How could these callous individuals think it was a good idea to demonstrate their indifference for human life? How self-centered does one have to be, to lack the empathy due the victims of the violence that was the subject of our amazing young people’s concern?

I for one want to shout from the rooftops just how proud and impressed I am with our current generation of students. Their ability to follow the trail of logic on a particular subject surpasses that of (apparently) many of the adults in our community.

Sad day when some can’t get past their own special interest to acknowledge the loss of others through no fault of their own…
