Cardinals power past Big Bend in NWAC action

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Sophomore first baseman Kennedy Anderson went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs in the first game for North Idaho College in a 14-4, 10-3 Northwest Athletic Conference sweep of the Big Bend Vikings in Northwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

Kayla Curtan went 3 for 5 with a single, double and home run in the first game.

Devinne Amesquita and McKenzie Schaller drove in two runs each in the opener to back Madi Mott, who struck out 10 to get the win in the opener in the circle.

In the second game, Ashlyn Winn homered twice, driving in three runs. Megan Carver and Anderson also homered in the game for NIC (13-1, 4-0 NWAC), which returns to action next Friday against Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Wash.
