A Spirit Lake man was arrested Tuesday after crashing his motorcycle while being pursued by police.

Zachery T. Little, 40, was booked into Kootenai County jail and faces charges of eluding a peace officer, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and resisting and obstructing.

Spirit Lake Police Department reports the incident began when an officer attempted to make a traffic stop with Little around 9 p.m. near the intersection of N. Seventh Avenue and Rhode Island Street.

Little reportedly fled from the officer, and a pursuit ensued through residential neighborhoods at speeds exceeding 40 mph. Little eventually lost control and crashed near N. Sixth Avenue and Vermont and continued to flee resulting in a foot pursuit for several blocks, according to Spirit Lake PD.

A second Spirit Lake officer joined in the foot pursuit which ended near the parking lot of Spirit’s Mini Stop where the suspect was tazed. After taking Little into custody officers discovered paraphernalia and marijuana in his possession.

Little’s motorcycle was impounded.
