Rosa Wenzel, 92

Rosa Wenzel, 92, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2018. Rosa’s maiden name was Rosa Cleta Pina Arauz Cruse. She was born March 3, 1926 in Jinotega, Nicaragua. She came to live in the United States where she went to school and became a citizen. She met John D. Wenzel and the couple married December 31, 1960. They have been married for 58 years. They lived in La Mirada, Calif. for five years before moving to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Rosa attended Coeur d’Alene Bible Church for over 20 years and was a born-again Christian. Her favorite church hymn was “How Great Thou Art.” Rosa attended the Christian Women’s Club and did the bouquets for events at the North Shore. She loved baking, gardening, sewing, quilting and traveling. She also belonged to a quilt group and did craft shows at the Hayden Bible Church.

Rosa had two daughters, Becky Wright of Hayden and Theresa Lambert of Yakima, Wash. She had five grandchildren, Chris, David and Michael Fox of Yakima, Wash., Ginger Wright of Hayden and Melonie Abravanel of Boise, Idaho. Rosa has a surviving sister, Onfalia Arauz of Norwalk, Calif. and a great-grandchild, Kira Fox of Yakima.

The couple owned and managed the Q-Motel in Coeur d’Alene for eight and a half years, before they moved to Hayden. She had a stroke in 2003 which took her speech and her husband, John Wenzel took exceptional care of her. We would like to express our appreciation for all the loving care provided through Auburn Hospice and Comfort Keepers.

There will be a service for her at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the English Funeral Chapel.
