Robert Louis Grier

Robert passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on March 3, 2018. Robert was born Aug. 8, 1937, to Zalmer and Wilda Grier in Twisp, Wash. Robert joined the Army in 1955. He enjoyed his military time and serving his country, and was still telling his Army stories to loved ones until his last days.

Robert was married to Lonna Bernhart in 1956, first living in Harrison, Idaho, and eventually putting down roots in the Rathdrum area where they raised their family. Robert worked in the lumber and construction industries and retired as a machinist for Altec Fabrication. He enjoyed going on hikes with family and reading a good book.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lonna; daughters Bobbi Jo (Steve) Grier and Lisa (Benny) Benson; grandchildren Ross (Athena) Ingraham, Robert (Medena) Ingraham, Brandy (Donaven) McKern, Scott (Anita) Solomon and Matt (Leslie) Soloman; sisters, Beverly Sedy and Lorietta White and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Ronald Grier and sister Shirley Fredricks.
