COEUR d’ALENE — Close the season on a high note this Friday during the last Music Walk of 2018.

From 5 to 8 p.m., 13 venues in downtown Coeur d’Alene will showcase the live talents of local musicians and singer-songwriters. It's a time for friends to come together and visit restaurants, businesses and galleries all while taking in the pleasant sounds of singing, strumming, handpan drumming and much more.

Music Walk, presented by the Coeur d'Alene Arts and Culture Alliance, began in 2007, making this the end of a successful 11th year.

"When I first moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1979, I used to love walking down Sherman and listening to music coming from various establishments, and (I) remember thinking how it made our little town feel happy and fun," said Ali Shute, executive director of the Coeur d'Alene Arts and Culture Alliance. "That is what I love about Music Walk. There is something about a lot of music that feels vibrant and exciting."

Music Walk is held the second Friday of the month from January through March. It steps in when Art Walk takes a break.

"This year in particular, Music Walk has felt like those days when I first moved here," Shute said. "And I really love that even a snow storm can’t keep folks from coming down and enjoying a magical night in Coeur d’Alene."

The lineup this month includes:

- Hanna Rebecca at the Human Rights Education Institute celebrating Women's Month

- Daniel Mills at Seasons of Coeur d’Alene

- Pat Coast at Taphouse Unchained

- Ethereal in E at Tomlinson Sotheby's

- Kathy Colton at Rustic

- Blake Lopez at Coeur d’Alene Fresh

- DJ Mikey Analog at Emerge

- Wyatt Wood at Arlon Rosenoff Fine Art

- Eric Henderson at the Doghouse

- Jason Lucas at the Moose

- Jacob Maxwell and Keanu and Joey at Crickets

- Andy Day at Angel Gallery of Fine Art and Antiques

- Robby French at Fine Brewed Cafe

The Blackwell Gallery will feature the fish-related art of several local artists in its "Go Fish” exhibit and the Art Spirit Gallery will feature the works of Robert Grimes, Victoria Brace and Glenn Grishkoff. Other venues are Fire Artisan Pizza and Marmalade Fresh Clothing.

Music Walk was voted Expedia’s best thing to do in Idaho in 2017. It is sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union and funded in part by the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission. For a complete listing of Music Walk venues and artists, visit www.artsandculturecda.org/music-walk.
