Timberlake, Kellogg stumble

MERIDIAN — Timberlake, which finished as the District 1 runner-up, lost to the Snake River Panthers 63-39 in the opening round of the state 3A tournament on Thursday evening at Meridian High.

Timberlake (10-14) will face defending champion Sugar-Salem (20-8) in a loser-out game today at 2 p.m. PST.

JT Wilfong had 12 points and seven rebounds and Chase Gardom 10 points for Timberlake.

Clancy Thomas had 16 points and 16 rebounds for Snake River (21-2), which faces Fruitland (20-4) in a semifinal game tonight.

MERIDIAN — The Wildcats, the District 1 champion, came up short to the District 4 champion Bulldogs in an opening round game in the state 3A tournament at Meridian High.

Senior Chase Jerome had 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Kellogg (17-4), which faces Parma (15-10) in a loser-out game today at 12:15 p.m. PST.

Kimberly (19-5) faces Shelley (18-8) in a semifinal game tonight.
