SHOOTING: Choose words carefully

Wednesday’s front-page article, “Officer shot, suspect killed,” contained a glaring error in wording. The page 1 photo and article are clear and concise. But on page 3 in that section noted as “SHOOTING,” column 2, paragraph 2, the man with the felony warrant is referred to as a “VICTIM.” He is definitely NOT a victim — he is a “shooter.” Please try to be a little more careful in use of descriptions, lest they induce sympathy where none is warranted. Less politically correct and more fact conscious would be good.
