GOOD!: Nothing happened

| March 2, 2018 12:00 AM

Saturday evening four couples went to dinner at Wolf Lodge Inn. Six of the party had concealed weapons permits. Two were carrying, one had a weapon in the truck and there may have been pistols in some of the purses. Nothing happened.

Three of the men were combat veterans. Another was a cowboy shooter and Glock pistol champion, who fired more than 6,000 rounds last year. One woman was an expert pistol shot. Nothing happened.

Depending on luck or the good nature of the evil/deranged individual/s is not a plan. The placement of a ruby red laser on the chest of a threat is a plan and means that we will not be led to slaughter like a lamb.

Driving home on a winter night, nothing happened. No need for AAA or insurance. Our house was still standing. Nothing happened. Insurance comes in different forms and protects one for different events.

One is never disarmed. Four of us at that table have had a short course in cane fighting. Grand masters we are not. It is another tool and form of insurance. We probably will never need various insurances. But it would be a foolish person indeed who skipped through the tulips without a care in the world.

Most schools declare themselves a gun free zone, thus announcing they have no insurance. It is indeed a rare event when a mass shooting event takes place at a police station that bristles with insurance.
