Singer-songwriter and suicide prevention activist to perform at Snug Bar

COEUR d’ALENE — A Guiness World Record-setting musician and suicide prevention activist will perform Saturday night, June 30, in Coeur d’Alene.

Singer-songwriter Scott Helmer is bringing his “One-Man Rock & Country Music Show” to the Snug Bar, 311 Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive.

Helmer has opened for iconic artists like Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down, Jeff Bridges, Eric Burdon & The Animals, and more, and after making mistakes, losing it all and being on the brink of suicide, Helmer set out in 2012 to help good causes across the nation raise money and awareness for their important work.

Since then, Helmer has appeared in more than 1,000 performances, with more than 200 being benefit concerts that have helped raise more than $2 million dollars for military veterans and their families, equine and pet rescues, food banks, nonprofit theaters, special needs children and adults, high schools and colleges, and suicide prevention, a cause that is very near and dear to the entertainer.

Helmer set the Guinness World Record for “Most Live Performances in 24 Hours (multiple cities)” in 2016 by successfully performing 12 concerts in 24 hours during a race against time across California and Arizona. Helmer’s entire attempt was used to help 12 causes raise money and awareness for their good work while making history at the same time.

After taking a year-long hiatus from the road, Helmer embarked May 19 on another concert tour to help raise money and awareness for causes.

Helmer will perform live in concert at venues across America ranging from historic theaters, campgrounds, RV parks and ranches, wineries and many more.

As with all of his past tours, many of the 100-plus concerts in 2018 will be fundraisers for causes in which he believes.

“My goal is to keep using my music and comeback story to give back and remind others to never give up,” Helmer said.

The tour will run through December and new shows are being added each week.
