COEUR d’ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Airport has canceled its 2018 air expo.

According to the Commemorative Air Force based in Arizona, tour dates in Coeur d’Alene as well as six other cities have been canceled to allow time to manufacture new parts for the maintenance of its B-17 bomber, “Sentimental Journey,” which was to be a main feature of the Coeur d’Alene expo.

“It happened with such late notice we were not able to make the needed adjustments to make the event a success,” said Coeur d’Alene Airport director Steven Kjergaard. Work has begun for next year’s event, he said, with tentative dates of July 13-14, 2019.
