Prairie falls again at wood-bat tourney

POST FALLS — Prairie led 2-0 after 2 1/2 innings, but the Apple Valley Packers of Wenatchee, Wash., scored six runs in the bottom of the third en route to a 10-4 victory over the Cardinals’ class AA squad Thursday in a Best of the Northwest wood-bat tournament game at Post Falls High.

Prairie (4-14) is now 0-2 in tourney play, after losing 10-1 to the Spokane Crew Yellow on Wednesday.

Tanner McCliment-Call hit a solo homer in the fifth for Prairie. Seth Villanpando, Harrison Reid and Spencer Zeller each had two hits for the Cardinals.
