SEPARATION: Stop the inhumanity

| June 20, 2018 1:00 AM

I have been watching the news, reading the paper and reading magazines with mounting horror at the cruelty we are inflicting on children of illegal immigrants. I do feel that people of the world who wish to come to America must come here legally as my mother and paternal grandparents did. That said, what we are doing as a nation to children of illegals is appalling. They are being kept walled up in an old Walmart with the window all papered over. The children are being housed in warehouses. Now new plans are afoot to build a tent city on a base in Texas to house up to 5,000 children. WE ARE SENDING CHILDREN TO CONCENTRATION CAMPS, PURE AND SIMPLE!!

I know my history fairly well. As my dad was in the whole of WWII and met my mom in England, WWII held a fascination to me.

Hitler started by muzzling the media and burning books. When he started putting the handicapped and mentally ill in concentration camps and on to death, not many spoke up. When the Roms were picked up no one really cared because they were just Roms. When the roundup of Jews and eastern Europeans started it was too late to stand up and say no.

Well, I am standing up now and speaking out for the children. I am saying NO! What we Americans living in the land of the free are doing to these poor children is an obscenity to all our values. If you are not ashamed and disgusted by this abuse of children ... you should be. How would you feel if your children were taken from you and housed inhumanely and the paperwork has been lost to where they are?

Let us speak out now. Stop the unwarranted cruelty now!
