North Idaho Housing Coalition names new director

| June 19, 2018 1:00 AM

North Idaho Housing Coalition board president Kerri Thoreson announced Maggie Lyons will serve as the interim executive director of the nonprofit. Lyons is the owner of Resolve Financial Group.

Lyons has served as court-appointed examiner, receiver, special master and trustee in federal and state courts in Idaho and Washington and Oregon.

“At this juncture Maggie’s connection to the community and depth of experience in managing and resolving financial issues, including asset recoveries, creditor distributions, and forensic accounting will be beneficial to the organization,” Thoreson said.

Lyons began work for NIHC in June.

“I look forward to helping NIHC reorganize with the goal of resuming its worthy mission of providing affordable housing in North Idaho,” Lyons said.

According to Lyons, NIHC’s funding partner, the Idaho Housing and Finance Administration, continues to provide guidance and support during this period of reorganization.

North Idaho Housing Coalition is an IHFA approved local housing nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to affordable homes for low to moderate income individuals and families by increasing the number of homes available, as well as assisting qualified buyers to purchase a home.

Lori Isenberg, NIHC’s former longtime executive director, is accused of embezzling over a half million dollars from the organization. The NIHC board, in January, severed ties with Isenberg, who was arrested in February and charged with grand theft. Isenberg failed to appear for her arraignment on the charge and is being sought by authorities on a $500,000 warrant.
