Leola L. Parsley

Sept. 23, 1922 – June 14, 2018

Leola was the matriarch of a five-generation family. She will be so missed by them all. She was born in Garfield, Wash., as one of six children born to John and Blanche Bair. Working and living on the farm, she graduated high school and took off for the city life in Spokane, Wash., which she loved.

She worked at Deaconess Hospital and did upholstering for Hallcraft during WWII. She had one daughter born during the war. She loved to work, and worked in and managed shoe and dress shops from Louisiana to Seattle over the years.

After failed marriages by divorce and death, she met and married Fred Parsley, now deceased. Life was a joy for them, traveling and in their RV as much as possible. Both also loved their individual craft talents and supported each other’s projects. She enjoyed socializing and had many friends they camped with. Family fun and gatherings were a big part of her life that she totally enjoyed and instigated.

All of her brothers, her sister and parents preceded her in death. Her daughter, Vicci Rae Anderson and husband Raymond Anderson, live in Coeur d’Alene along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; too numerous to mention but each one was loved and cherished by her, with their own place in her heart. Fred’s family was a great part of her life prior to his death and her move to Coeur d’Alene. Several nieces and nephews were very much a part of her life as well.

Her leaving us for heaven with Jesus is good for her, but she left her mark on every heart she came in contact with and will be sorely missed. No family gathering will be the same.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living, 9873 N. Buttercup Lane, Hayden, ID 83835, with burial in Lewiston, Idaho.
