Prairie, Northern Lakes fall in tourney finales

SANDPOINT — The Prairie Cardinals finished 1-3 at the Battle at the Beach U19 wood-bat tournament following a 7-2 loss to the Hanford Flames on Sunday at Pine St. Field.

Matt Fleming struck out 6 in 4 2/3 innings for class AA Prairie (3-10). Harrison Reid tripled and scored on Tanner McCliment-Call’s single in the fifth for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals return to action Friday at home vs. the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen in a North Idaho League game at 5 p.m. at Post Falls High.

SANDPOINT — The class A Mountaineers finished 2-2 at Sandpoint’s wood-bat tourney following the loss to the Crew at War Memorial Field.

Colton Aragon had a two-run single in the third inning for Northern Lakes (8-2), and Jack McDonald had two hits.
