Davidson, Fleming spark Prairie
SANDPOINT — Andrew Davidson’s RBI single scored Zac Pollard with the tie-breaking run in the fifth inning, and the Prairie Cardinals beat the Medicine Hat Seminoles 9-8 on Friday night in their first game at the Battle at the Beach U19 wood-bat tournament.
Medicine Hat led 8-5 in the bottom of the fourth when Tanner McCliment-Call hit a two-run double, then scored on Matt Fleming’s double, to tie the game at 8.
Fleming finished 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a run scored, including a two-run single in a five-run third inning for Prairie (3-7).
The tourney continues today and concludes Sunday.

SANDPOINT — Dustin Smith went 2 for 3, scored twice and drove in a run as the Mountaineers blanked the Hanford Flames in their opener at the Battle of the Beach U19 wood-bat tourney.
Collin Bell hit a two-run single in the fifth for Northern Lakes (8-1), which is scheduled to play Shadle Park today at 12:20 p.m. and Orofino at 2:40, both at Pine Street Field.
Jack McDonald gave up two hits over 5 2/3 innings for the Mountaineers. He struck out three and walked five.
