Julius ‘Pete’ Peterman

April 27, 1921 — June 6, 2018

Pete passed quietly on June 6, 2018, with his kids and grandkids by his side. He was 97 years young.

He was so proud of his service to his country as a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy; serving on the USS Ocelot. After the war, he began his career as a metallurgist, a tool and dye-maker and machinist, at Republic Steel in Chicago, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joyce; his brothers, Charlie and Ernie; his sister, Emma; and several half siblings. He will be meeting them, as well as lifelong friends from the Chicago area, who preceded him. As much as he loved the Lord, there is no doubt a huge party now taking place in Heaven!

He will be sorely missed for his hysterical sense of humor, quick wit, extreme kindness and endless love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Steve and his wife, Kathy Peterman of Westcliffe, Colo.; his daughter, Lu Peterman of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; his grandkids, Brandon Caldwell and Tara Caldwell; great-grandkids, Maddi, Katie, Brynnley and Jessie; and Jipsee the dog.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814, followed by a graveside service at St. Thomas Cemetery, 22nd and Sherman Avenue in Coeur d’Alene.

Contributions can be made to Schneidmiller Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave. Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.

“Every passing second is another chance to turn it all around.”
