Car d'Lane begins today

Rumbling, rolling classic car action returns to Coeur d’Alene tonight.

Car d’Lane, in its 28th year, takes place downtown today and Saturday.

The classic car weekend begins with a cruise from 6 to 9 p.m. This vintage vehicle parade will travel along Sherman Avenue from north Second Street to Ninth Street, then go around the block on the south side of Sherman to head north on 10th Street and then turn west on Lakeside to Fourth, where it will head north on Fourth to Wallace, then turn on Wallace and return to Second Street to begin another loop.

The Red Hot Mamas, Coeur d’Alene’s very own zany, dancing performers, will kick off the festivities with a short parade at 5 p.m. along Sherman Avenue from Seventh Street to Second Street.

Get a closer look at the cars and meet their owners on Saturday during the Show & Shine. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the cars will be parked throughout the downtown area.
