Photo by LORNA KRAUSE The Coeur d’Alene Crush 04 softball team went 6-0 in the 14-and-under division of the SGFSA tournament, hitting six home runs in the tourney and winning the championship game June 10 at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane. Brynn Tolzmann hit three home runs, including a grand slam. In pool play games, the Crush beat the Spokane Diamonds 12-2 on Friday, as Brynn Tolzmann, Alyssa Krause and Kara Lallatin all hit RBI doubles. On Saturday, the Crush beat the Calgary Adrenaline from Calgary, Alberta, 7-6, as Emma Aldrich hit a walk off three-run double. The Crush then beat the Spokane Stealth 7-4, as Alexis Blankenship hit a home run, and Kristine Schmidt hit a ground rule two-run double. In bracket play Sunday, the Crush beat INW Edge of Liberty Lake 22-6. Brynn Tolzmann and Alyssa Krause both hit three-run homers and RBI triples, and Kailey Cramer, Matea Dorame and Emma Aldrich all had RBI doubles. The Crush beat the Flathead Breeze 13-0. Brynn Tolzmann hit a grand slam, Matea Dorame hit a RBI triple, and Alexis Blankenship and Kailey Cramer both hit RBI doubles. In the championship game, the Crush beat the Heat from Warden, Wash., 5-3 in eight innings, as Matea Dorame doubled in the go-ahead runs. Brynn Tolzmann homered in the win. North Idaho Inferno Hartzell Girls 06: The Inferno finished third in the silver bracket at the 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont.

The Inferno tied the first game 2-2 against Flathead Force, lost their second and third games, then came back to beat Flathead 5-2 to finish strong.

Inferno Hartzell Girls 07: The Inferno finished third in the silver bracket at the 3 Blind Refs tournament in Kalispell, Mont., beating Missoula King 5-0 and Flathead Rapids 7-0. The Inferno lost to Helena Academy 3-0 in the semifinals.

VOLLEYBALL

Lake City camps near: Lake City High head volleyball coach Mike Summers heads the instructional staff for the T-Wolves Volleyball Camp, scheduled for June 25-28 at Woodland Middle School due to construction at Lake City High.

The Elementary Camp, for those entering grades 3-5, will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. The Advanced Camp, for those entering grades 6-8, will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day.
