Eugene ‘Tommy’ Thompson, 89

Eugene “Tommy” Thompson died peacefully at home on June 6, 2018. He was 89 years old.

Tommy was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Martinez, Calif. He spent time in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and then became a San Francisco police officer where he was medically retired. Tommy often was fondly referred to by all of his grandchildren and neighborhood kids as “Bubby.”

He was preceded in death by his wife Maryanna; son, Paul; and granddaughter, Sarah. Tommy is survived by daughters, Anna (Terry) Thomas of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Patricia (Jeff) Perry of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Teresa (Elmer) Jarin of Poulsbo, Wash.; and sons, Tom (Maria) Thompson of Texas, Dan Thompson of Coeur d’Alene and Tim (Lisa) Thompson of Wisconsin. He had 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 20, 2018, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Cemetery, where he and his wife, Maryanna, will be laid to rest.
