SHOOTINGS: School boards, step up

| June 8, 2018 1:00 AM

Guns do not kill people, but people do. Suburbans and cars do not kill, people do (50,000 a year)! NRA does not kill but rather, safe and proper use of firearms is their first priority. By the same token, auto manufacturers’ No. 1 goal is safety!

The primary goal for police and sheriffs is protection of life. We know that was not the case in Florida! They knew all about the killer and did nothing. Not allowing EMS to enter the critical area probably resulted in more deaths! There has been an uproar! Why not blame the man who did it and the officers who ordered the “stand down” very similar to Benghazi!

Everyone wants the president to settle this problem since the worst school shooting in history in the world was in the United States in 1927 (40 dead). Schools should be protected by our state and local school boards. If we really are serious about this, we need ongoing action of our school boards! There are many things that can be done, but no one does anything.

Some students have said that they would not attend a school where there were guns protecting them. Apparently, he would rather die than live!

Where are our school boards? Do they care enough to be brave and start protecting the multitude of children?
