CST's 'Forever Plaid' opens June 14

| June 8, 2018 1:00 AM

The harmonic sounds of the 1950s live on in “Forever Plaid,” Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s first show of the 2018 season.

The show opens June 14 and runs through July 1 on stage at Coeur d’Alene’s Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road.

When four young singers — Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie — are killed in a car crash on their way to their first big gig, they posthumously take the stage for one final concert in this goofy, 1950s nostalgia trip. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end that the story of Forever Plaid begins. “Filled with goofy fun and classic harmonies, this show is a delightful trip to a more innocent time,” says CST’s description of the show.

It’s a revue of the harmonizing “guy groups” like the Four Aces and the Four Freshmen, who were popular in the ’50s.

Ticket prices are $27 to $49, but specials are available. To find out about ticket deals or to purchase tickets, call 208-660-2958 or visit www.cdasummertheatre.com.
