FLAG: Possible double-standard

I was wondering when the flag would be back and last week noticed it back at Fourth of July Pass. I love seeing it there and all it represents.

I understand the Forest Service disapproves of public displays and was curious about how they feel about the white carved-out cross on the hillside at the top of the pass? Is that not classified as a public display? Please note that I have no problem with crosses personally!
