NFL: Protest against players

| June 3, 2018 1:00 AM

After reading the Coeur d’Alene Press, Friday, May 25 edition, I wanted to give my opinion on pro football kneeling protest.

I worked in an office for 39 years before retiring. If I had protested against their social justice or the country’s social justice by kneeling by my desk and customers saw me, do you have any idea how long I would be employed? Thirty minutes, probably with my last check in my pocket.

The NFL lost attendance, viewing, etc., in 2017, more than likely due to the protests. Is that good for their investments? Halfway through the season, I quit watching the NFL on TV. I had planned on going to Seattle to watch a game as I had previously when I lived in Woodinville, Wash. No way. I stayed home or went to college football, and watched college football and NBA on TV. I got tired of TV highlighting protest kneeling for 10-20 minutes or so.

Why don’t the players donate $1,000 to organizations that fight social injustice? They can afford it. Most individuals can’t afford it with all the other charities.

I got it off my chest. I feel better.

Maybe if the NFL players who kneel decide to not kneel or bite the hand that feeds them, they would feel better too.
