Kootenai County Sheriff's Office responds to possible home invasion

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho: At 11:20 a.m. deputies responded to the 7900 block of W. Cougar Gulch Rd. reference a possible home invasion robbery, according to a press release by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

An 18 year old female had reportedly walked outside of her residence to let her dog out of a nearby kennel. As she was about to enter back into her residence, she was shoved to the ground from behind by an unknown person. The victim sustained a minor injury, but was able to see the suspect. She described the suspect as a 6’ tall male wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, and all black colored clothing.

A Kootenai County Sheriff’s K-9 unit responded to the scene, but was not able to locate the suspect.

At this time it’s not known if there was a possible vehicle involved or if any other homes have been burglarized. Anyone living in the area is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office if they discover they have been a victim of a burglary or theft.
