Geneva Erma Greenfield, 86

Geneva Erma Greenfield, 86, known to friends and family as Genny, entered into rest July 10, 2018, in Spokane, Wash., with her family at her bedside.

She was born Dec. 10, 1931, to Gerhart Schallock and his wife, Helen Marie (Lechler), in Beach, N.D. Her family moved to Hayden, Idaho, when she was 16 and she graduated from high school in Rathdrum, Idaho. She lived in the Hayden and Coeur d’Alene area for several years, then in Montana, Idaho and Washington.

She was a homemaker for several years and later held several jobs to which she was very dedicated. Genny was a great cook and loved to cook for anyone and everyone. She also enjoyed traveling in her motor home when she was able.

Genny is survived by her children, Cindy (Rick) Grabenstein of Mead, Wash., and Doug (Judy) Greenfield of Graham, Wash.; her brother, Richard (Jean) Schallock of Woodburn, Ore.; five grandchildren, Anthony Grabenstein, Kim James-Hinzmann, Tara James, Sean Greenfield and Jessica Wenning; and eight great-grandchildren. She had several nieces and nephew, having a special relationship with niece Debbie Scott of Bothell, Wash. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda James; brothers Robert, Ervin and Donald Schallock; and sister, Lola Schliep.

A memorial will be held for family members in Seattle, Wash., and a small gathering for friends and the special staff at Avalon Care Center who took loving care of Genny in her last three years.
