Not many neighborhoods in Coeur d’Alene can offer new construction with the kind of rich tree cover like at Alpine Point at Canfield Mountain.

Located just off Thomas Lane, east of 22nd Street, Alpine Point, predictably, rests a short distance from Canfield Mountain. The neighborhood has purposefully kept many of the towering trees that once filled this eastern corner of town. They contribute to a comforting, woodsy feel that rests just a minute or so from the town-spanning 15th Street.

The new development is being shepherded by Aspen Homes with a focus on quality-built, classic North Idaho craftsman-style designs. Several floor plans are available, starting with an almost 2,000-square-foot rancher home with three or four bedrooms (depending on layout) and a three-car garage. The biggest model is a two-story that strikes near 2,900 square feet with up to five bedrooms and can include a master suite on the main level. Prices start in the mid-$450,000s.

Alpine Point is represented by Scott Carr with Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty. According to assistant Rylee Bonacci, about 13 lots have sold with another 15 left for sale in the single-phase development. A couple of homes are finished and already occupied, with a couple more nearing completion soon. Two spec homes are in development, with one planned to be a model home.

Because of its proximity to 15th Street, Alpine Point is ideally located for those looking for new development in the heart of the city. Both Canfield Middle School and Coeur d’Alene High School are within walking/biking distance of the development (a certain writer of Neighborhood of the Week grew up near Thomas Lane). The area is only a couple of minutes from the main business stretches of Government Way, Appleway and more, but Alpine Point still maintains an element of seclusion.

Aspen Homes are known for their quality builds and abundant premium interior and exterior features. For a complete list of models and options, visit www.AspenHomes.com and click on the Communities tab to learn more about Alpine Point, as well as their other developments.

If you’re looking for existing property in the Thomas Lane area or near the base of Canfield Mountain, maybe check back later, as inventory there is currently sparse. A couple of homes are currently listed a few blocks north of Alpine Point near Shaddock Lane Park, or you can find some older homes southwest, closer to 15th Street.
